THREE OAKS - Waldemar "Wally" Meissner, a husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Three Oaks, Michigan, at the age of 92. Born on February 11, 1933, in Cloppenburg, Germany, to the late Adolf and Ottilie (Anholdt) Meissner.
Wally's journey led him from his birthplace in Germany to the community of Three Oaks. He dedicated 28 years of his life to General Mills, where he excelled as a supervisor, before embracing the challenges and rewards of self-employment. Beyond his professional endeavors, Wally was a man of many interests. His determination was most apparent in his passion for raising livestock. Wally also spent time working in Chicago, where his analytical approach served him well in various capacities.
Wally's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Marlene (Schreihans) Meissner, his devoted children, Tobi Lyne (Halid) Shawahkah and Eric Meissner, and his adored grandchildren, Zein, Abduliah, and Rakon. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother, who will miss his guidance and companionship.
Wally was known for his determination. His analytical mind meant he approached life's challenges with logic and precision, ensuring he made thoughtful decisions both for his family and in his career.
Wally's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends. His life was full of love, hard work, and dedication to those he held dear. Wally Meissner will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will remain in the hearts for all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man.
