Walter Luster, III, better known as Junior, Fella, and many other names, was born to the union of
the late Mr. Walter (Pell) Luster and Mrs. Carrie Ella Luster on April 9, 1949, in Macon, MS.
Growing up as a child, Walter attended New Zion M. B. Church with his mother. He was
baptized at an early age and remained there for many years. Later in life, he united with Cedar
Grove M.B. Church in Aliceville, AL for ten years. Afterwards, he returned to New Zion and
remained a dedicated deacon until his health declined.
Walter was a graduate of B.F. Liddell High School, Class of 1968. Within the same year, he
united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Kitty Rose Brown, on December 25th. He was a
hard-working man and an exceptional provider for his family, whom he loved dearly. He began
working at Western and Piece Dye Fabric in Chicago, IL. Then he moved back to Macon, MS,
and worked at Mitchell Steel and later in life, at Bryan Foods until he retired. Walter was not a
man of many words, but said what he meant and meant what he said.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Walter Luster, Jr., and brothers Julius Luster and
Richard Luster.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife, Kitty Rose (Brown) Luster, two sons,
Kenneth Luster and Walter Luster, IV, two daughters: Shonda Lockett-Luster and Audrey
(Antonio) Ivy, one sister: Kittie Mae Luster, one brother: Cleveland Luster, twelve
grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four aunts: Viola Skinner, Irene Hubbard, Lucy
Thomas, and Bessie Harlan, four uncles: James (Sarah) Luster, Wallace Skinner, Jessie Smith,
and Eddie (Loisteen) Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
