Walter Benjamin Richardson, 69, of Inverness, Florida passed away in Brooksville, Florida on June 30, 2025. He was born in Dade City, Florida on April 5, 1956. The son of Ernest "Rich" and Geneva Richardson and Minnie Crutchfield Scrugg, he grew up in Webster, Florida. He proudly served in the US Navy, retiring from the USS George Washington in 1994. He was an avid lover of the outdoors, spending most of his retirement years at his small farm in Douglas, Georgia. He enjoyed spending time with his large family who cherished him deeply. He will be remembered most for the love he had for his family, his character, and his boundless sense of humor. He is survived by his sons; Benji Richardson (Sheenah) of Dade City, Florida; Jeff Richardson (Carolyn) of Inverness, Florida; Brady Richardson (Angela) of Douglas, Georgia; daughters: Samantha Scott (Shawn) of Bushnell, Florida; Nicole Lange (Daniel) of Orlando, Florida; Pamela Taylor (Shane), of Bushnell, Florida; grandchildren: Cameron, Hayleigh, Logan, Avery, Shayla, Peyton, Rylan, Wyatt, Blayton, Bristol, Ethan, and Noah; great-grandchildren: Beau, Eastyn, and Braylen; mother: Geneva; brothers: Bobby, Steven, Ronnie, and Chuck; sister: Patty. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ernest "Rich" Richardson and Minne Crutchfield Scrugg and sister Lisa Sherwood. A service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at Croom-A-Coochee Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11 am with the service beginning at 12 pm. Pastor Kenny Williams is officiating with interment to follow at Garden of Memories in Webster, Florida. Arrangements are being handled by Purcell Funeral Home Chapel in Bushnell, Florida.
