Wanda Gail Allen was born in Birmingham, AL on December 11, 1961 to the late Elgie and
Celesta Blakley Allen. She was the last of seven children. Wanda graduated with the class of
1980 from Warrior High School in Warrior, AL. Upon graduation, Wanda attended and received
her bachelor's degree in business administration from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical
University, Normal, AL. She was involved in many extracurricular activities such as choir, band,
and the Baptist student union. After working many years in numerous departments, Wanda
retired from the UAB Medical Center.
Wanda grew up as an avid church goer. She started at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church
in Pinson, AL. Her family then moved to First Missionary Baptist Church in Warrior, AL. She later
became a proud member of Faith Chapel Christian Center in Birmingham, AL which she
attended until her death.
Wanda lived a joyful life as a sister, aunt, and friend, and was proceeded in death by brother
*William (*Mary) Blakley. Leaving to cherish her memories are her siblings Edward "Butch"
(Jeanetta) Blakley, Naomi Dizaar, Ellice (*Ceophus) Moorer, Letitia (*Freddie) Johnson, Lori
(Darren) Darbey, her adoptive daughter/niece Stephanie Allen and a host of nieces, nephews,
great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Wanda was loved by All.
