Wanda was born to Homer and Fannie Adkins on December 26, 1949, in Indianapolis. After graduating from Southport High School, she enrolled in a nursing program and graduated from Indianapolis University. After helping numerous people as a nurse, Wanda changed careers and became a truck driver. She logged over a million miles in her 25+ year career.
Wanda was an amazing nana! She would always make time for all of her children and would do anything for them.
Throughout her life and to her death she nourished and loved those around her. She was a shining light to her parents, siblings, and her entire family.
In 1998 she met the love of her life, Ivan Little. In June of 2000, they were married, and their love and strong companionship will live on through eternity. Left to honor her love and memory are Wanda's children, Doug (Jodi) and Martina; her 9 grandchildren, Megan (Michael), Hannah (Kevin), Austin, Aaron, Shayla, Branden, Keirsten, Kylie, and Kaiden; her great-grandchildren, Melody and Mason; her three brothers, Hubert (Bonnie), Kennith, and Roy (Lissa), and many nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Fannie Adkins, and by her brother Ralph.
Wanda will be remembered for her shining light and love. She was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that anyone could ask for. Her ability to love and touch everyone has set the example for her family to follow.
Wanda's family will receive friends and relatives at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation, located at 729 N. US Highway 31, Whiteland, IN 46184. The viewing will be on Wednesday, November 15th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A memorial service for Wanda will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16th at 11:00am, with a 12:30pm interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, located at 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
