Wayne E. Kaseman, 84, Ashley, ND died Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at his home on Dry Lake. Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, June 16, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley, led by Minister Amanda Nitschke.
Bearers will be Wayne's brother, Mark and his grandson, Gavin; Honorary bearers will be Wayne's grandchildren; Usher will be Denny Hoffman; Soloist Terry Ulrich will Sing "Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound"; Organist will Steve Glaesmann; and the congregational Hymn will be "What a Friend we have in Jesus".
Wayne Edwin Kaseman, son of Elvina (Janke) and Edwin Kaseman, was born on January 30, 1941 seven miles NW of Venturia, ND. This is where he was brought up and attended rural school. Following his schooling, he worked for neighboring farmers. Wayne married Virgina Iszler at Ashley on September 23, 1962. The first year of marriage they lived in Ashley where Wayne was employed by Salzer Excavating. In July 1963, the couple relocated to Virginia's homeplace on Dry Lake. This is where Wayne lived the rest of his life.
The Kaseman's were farmers until 1996 when they rented out their land. Wayne then worked for the McIntosh Highway Department until retiring in 2003. In retirement, Wayne kept as busy as he wanted to, putzing around his home and farm, and enjoying life on the lake. Wayne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and, in his younger years, belonged to the Ashley Lion's Club, Ashley Jaycees, shot in a pool league, and belonged to the Cold Water Wildlife Club.
Wayne is survived by Virginia, his wife of 62 years; three sons-Robert Kaseman of Bismarck, ND, Wade (Wendy) Kaseman of Lincoln, ND and Dale (Jennifer) Kaseman of Ashley; two brothers-Donald Kaseman of Wishek, ND and Mark Kaseman of Zeeland, ND; three sisters-Evangeline (Melvin) Fregien of Three Forks, MT, Genevieve (Norman) Meidinger of Bismarck, and Elvina Moldenhauer of Great Falls, MT; seven grandchildren-Dustin Kaseman, Mandy Senske, Abby Dubord, Lane Kaseman, Alex Kaseman, Haley Kaseman, and Gavin Kaseman; seven great grandchildren-Nellijun, River, Hollis, Baker, Nova, Kia, and Kash.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Edwin; his mother, Elvina; one son, Clinton; one brother (James); and one grandson, Trevor Kaseman.
Services are in care of Carlsen-Lien Chapel, Ashley.
