Wayne L. Miller, age 73, of Palmer, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home in Palmer, Iowa. No services will be held at this time.
Wayne Lewis Miller was born on August 7, 1951, in Medford, Oregon. He was the son of Walter Miller and Ada (Cook) Milsten. Wayne was raised in Medford and Eugene, Oregon, then graduated from Westwood High in Mesa, Arizona. He entered the U.S. Army on February 11, 1969 to serve in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1970. Wayne lived in many places throughout his life, including Oregon, California, Arizona, North Carolina, and Virginia. He worked as a welder and operating engineer. On October 4, 2004, Wayne was united in marriage to June Lefler in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The couple eventually moved to Iowa where they settled.
Wayne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he once served as a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, June of Palmer; sons Jasen Miller (Ramona) of Amarillo, TX and Jeremy Severin of Virginia; daughters, Stacy Moore (Christopher) of Roswell, NM and Autumn Marks of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Jashua (Jessica) Moore, Shyanne (Shane) Cantrell, Austin (Jennifer) Miller, Tristen Miller, Harlee (Tyler) Curtin and Kody Gilpin; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Selena, Lilly, Stevie and Nolan, and brothers, Larry Miller and Robert Miller, both of Arizona.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Julie Miller; grandson, Kody Gilpin, and a brother, Lon Miller.
