Wendell Ray Red Star Jr., known to his close friends as "Water all the people" passed away July 13, 2025 in Pryor, MT. He was given his Crow name "Huche" (Wind) by his aunt Redstar Price.

Wendell was born on March 11, 1978. He is the son of the late Wendell Red Star Sr., the late Clifford Birdinground Sr. and Ardith Birdinground. Wendell was especially loved and cared for by Amy (Thomas) Yellowtail, whom he entrusted one of his greatest blessings with, his son Liam. Wendell is a member of the Peigan Clan and a child of the Sore Lip Clan.

Wendell, a humble and outgoing man was born and raised in Lodge Grass, MT where he began his early education with the Lodge Grass School District. Wendell had a smile for all and was incredibly kind and helpful. He is greatly appreciated for all he did. He began his career as a mechanic with his close friend Jeremy Turner and they became experts at working on broke down Fords. Wendells first mechanic special was gifted to him by Amy, we all called "The Boat". Wendell excelled at many trades and was a quick learner. He was handy in construction, renovation and plumbing. He enjoyed making fans and peyote stitch beadwork. He wrangled horses on the Crown Butte Ranch.

Wendell cared very deeply for his children Briana, Bullweasel, Liam, Talon, Maceo, Amy and Baby Coyote. He spoke of his children often. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all of his nieces and nephews.

Loved ones who have gone before him include his father, Wendell Red Star Sr., his father Clifford Birdinground Sr., His grandparents Wallace and Amy Red Star Sr., his aunts Kaneeta Harris, Lani Red Star, Connie Stewart, his uncle Joseph Stewart, his brother Joe Birdinground and his sisters Doonie Young and Merida Red Star.

Survivors include his mother Ardith Birdinground. His uncles Wallace Jr, Kevin, Aaron (Susan) and Marlon Sr. (Chrislynn). His aunts, Redstar (Kelly), Faith Iron, Pam Garza, Clarece, Walla (Max), Nadine Dawes and Susan Birdinground. His brothers, Adam, Coyote, Andrew, Keaton, Palmer, Kevin II, Tate, Winters, Raven (Mary), Harris, Marlon Jr. (Amanda), Sage, Jaymeson, Terry (Paulette), Dale, Lansing, Clifford Jr., Carlow, baby Elias, his brothers that serve in the Marines Curley Kindness and Nate Good Luck . His sisters, Johnna, Magenta, Veronica, Vanessa, Katrina, Jennifer, Sunny Sky, Erin, Wendy, Chelsea, Grace, Journeyway, Butterfly, Verona, and Camille.

Special relatives Steve and Violet Bird of Tuba City, AZ.

Extended family, The Dust, Bright Wings, Morning, Stewart, Birdinground and the Carlow family of South Dakota.

Wendell will be placed at his final resting place on the base of Crown Butte in Pryor, MT, where he was going to build his homesite.
