Wiley Lewallen Obituary

Wiley Lewallen, born on May 8, 1932, in Homer, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 93 at Arbor Terrace Peachtree City. He was a beloved family member and friend, whose life was marked by his love of the outdoors, music, and community.
Wiley, affectionately known as "Pops," was a man of many passions. His heart found joy in the rhythms of bluegrass music, and he cherished evenings spent at Cedar Grove for fellowship and "pickin' and grinning'." An avid fisherman and devoted gardener, he could often be found enjoying the tranquility of nature. Wiley also loved to dance and explore on RV camping adventures, as well as take long drives through scenic countryside. A dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves, he embraced the simple pleasures of life, including riding his golf cart around his neighborhood.
Throughout his life, Wiley was active in his community. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed bringing joy to others as a clown in the Yarrab Shrine Temple South Fulton Buffoons, where he was known as "Jughead." Wiley and his girlfriend, Pat Mealer, were known for enjoying social gatherings at their Christian City Hilltop neighborhood clubhouse.
Wiley was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents, Tom and Lee Lewallen; and his brothers, William and Turner. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Bezek, and her husband, Butch; his cherished girlfriend, Pat Mealer; his grandchildren, Judd Harper (Valerie) and Andrew Bezek; and his great-grandchildren, Henry, Bennett, and Wilson. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lonnie Hale and Evie Dell McElwaney; his brother, Fletch (Carol); as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
The family would like to invite friends and loved ones to celebrate Wiley's life. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
Wiley will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and music will forever echo in the hearts of those he touched.
