William Wesley Goracke, 63, of Maryville, Missouri passed away at his home Monday, June 16, 2025.
William was born July 14th, 1961 to the late George Wesley Goracke and Geraldine Mayberry in Leavenworth, KS.
A beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us too soon. William, known affectionately to many as "Billy or Bill" was a dedicated concrete finisher and a proud member of the Cement Masons' Local 518 and also Greater Kansas City Laborers. His craftsmanship and work ethic were a testament to his character, and he took great pride in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional life, William was a man of many passions. He was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and KU Jayhawks fan. He had a remarkable talent for cooking and was renowned among family and friends for his BBQ skills. Whether it was a backyard gathering or a holiday feast, he poured his heart into every meal, bringing people together around the table with his delicious creations.
In his early years, William was a familiar face on the softball field of Cody Park, playing short stop as his lucky #3 for Humble Pie in Leavenworth, KS. His competitive spirit shone brightly, whether he was enjoying a game of pinball at the local 7-Eleven or billiards at Junction Tavern. He thrived on camaraderie and was always ready for a game of horseshoes or washers, embodying the essence of fun and friendship.
As he grew older, William continued to embrace life with enthusiasm. He could often be found at Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville, MO perfecting his swing, or at Nodaway Lake where he found peace with a fishing pole in one hand and a cold beer in the other. His zest for life was infectious, and he had a unique ability to make every moment memorable.
William may not have been with us for a long time, but he certainly made an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His smile, laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
He is survived by his daughter Michele Bowers, and son Joshua Goracke; sister, Debra Mayberry (Matt Hussman); brother, Robert (Elaine) Mayberry and three nieces.
Rest in peace, dear William. You were here for a good time, and you will forever be in our hearts.
Mr. Goracke has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home in Maryville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Nodaway County Senior Center and the Ministry Center in Maryville, MO reflecting William's generous spirit and love for his community.
