William Higgs Obituary

William Trenton Higgs IV was born on January 4, 1989, to William Trenton Higgs III and Lynda Alisha Knight-Higgs. He was the first child of four born to this union. William passed away at University Hospital in Newark, NJ on November 21, 2024 at 1:19 p.m. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Francine Meikle and James Meikle of Peekskill, New York. William was educated in the Newark School System. He first attended George Washington Carver/Bruce Street School and the Weequahic High School.
William was very talented and had a very strong will to succeed at whatever he did. He worked for Burger King and various other companies. He attended PC Tech to be a Pharmacy Technician.
William was very loving child. He had a heart for people and his community. He was one of the greatest ballplayers for Newark Travel Teams. He went to summer camps at Maryland Waterbay Shed. He loved to dance and sing and he loved his Rap Music. He also loved to dress. He loved going to the Weequahic Park Festival every year. He was a member of Mount Carmel Holiness Church of Newark, New Jersey. He sang in the church choir and played the drums when church was in service. He was also a Selected Service Member.
The life of our Beloved William will be cherished by: his parents, William T. Higgs III and Lynda Knight-Higgs; his sisters, Alisha R. Higgs and Rene' Harrison Brown; twin brother and sister, James C. Higgs and Lynda N. Higgs; his children, Nalani Inez Higgs and William Higgs; grandparents of Highland Falls, NY, James Earl Knight and Gloria Faye Knight; along with aunts, uncles and family, Dr. Vivian Stanley, Reggie Knight, Eric Knight, Rochelle Foley, Calvin Seoya, Cema James, Keith James, Adrian James, Pricilla Knight, Bobby Knight, Bobby Knight, Tyesha Knight, Wallace Knight, Marco Knight, Pricilla Knight, Malaya, Tyrone Higgs, Tonya Higgs, Tyrone Higgs Jr., Tia Higgs, Kathleen Higgs, Earnest Higgs, Michelle Yates, Jacari Yates, Kimberly Jones, Angela Neily, Willis Neily, Vernon Neily, Willard Neily, Angelica Neily, Gloria Higgs, DeAngelo Evans, Nadeera Higgs, Derone Higgs, Russell Knight, James Knight, Dorothea Williams Hopkins, Stevie Brown, Lyndsay Burgess and India Burgess Macai; and two close friends, Kenya Wilson and Hyshima Wooten. William is preceded in passing by his uncle Edward Wayne Higgs, and his grandparents Mae Forest Higgs and William henry Higgs.
