William Houston Kerry, Sr., a beloved husband and father, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at the age of 79. Born on November 13, 1945, in Montrose, Louisiana, Houston made a significant mark both in his profession and in the hearts of those who knew him.
Houston devoted many years of his life to his career, having worked and retired from Baker Manufacturing in Pineville, Louisiana, as a furniture upholsterer. His craftsmanship and commitment were evident throughout his years at work. Additionally, he spent time working and also retired from L.H. Johnson in Natchitoches, where he continued to cultivate a reputation as a hard worker.
At his core, Houston was a family man. He loved his family deeply and was a devoted husband to his wife, Esamay "May" D. Kerry, and a caring father to his son, William Houston Kerry, Jr. Together with his wife, he would often rise early during hunting season to enjoy the outdoors and be settled into his spot, and it brought him immense joy to hunt alongside May. Fishing also held a special place in his heart but only if they were biting. He particularly enjoyed fishing because it was an activity that brought he and May closer, even if the main reason was simply to see her happy.
Houston is survived by his loving wife, May Kerry, and his son, William Houston Kerry, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Suzie Brossett Kerry, and his brothers, Bill Kerry, Will Kerry, and Sammy Kerry.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bryan Picou and the staff at the Kidney Treatment Center for their care and compassion during Houston's illness. His legacy of love and dedication to family will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
A service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Burial will follow at Russell Cemetery near Montrose, LA. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time at Blanchard-St. Denis on Monday the 7th.
