William Mesbergen Obituary

William Bruce "Bill" Mesbergen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 78.
Bill grew up on a dairy farm near Hudsonville, Michigan, He graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Calvin College and received a master's degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Michigan. William worked in the Chemical Industry at Ciba Geigy and Syngenta from 1976 – 2008.
Bill loved his church and studying the Bible. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, lake fishing, watching his grandchildren play sports, and he never missed a Michigan football or basketball game on TV "Go Blue!"
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene Mesbergen; two brothers, Roger and Bob Mesbergen; and one sister, Beth VandenBosch.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sonia Mesbergen; his children, Kathryn (David) Pratt of Mobile, AL, Rebecca (Gregg) Cowan of Pensacola, FL, Diane (Nick) Crovato of Bay Minette, AL, Emily (Jay) Richardson and Will (Faith) Mesbergen of Daphne, AL; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Kay (Dave) Poskey; sisters-in-law, Wanda Mesbergen and Ruth Mesbergen; brother-in-law, Keith VandenBosch of Grandville, Michigan; along with other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:30AM. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends following the service.
