William Thomas Murphy, Jr., 73, of Manchester, MD passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at his home.
Born December 8, 1951 in Dundalk, MD, he was the son of the late William Thomas Murphy, Sr. and Lillian (née Solowski) Murphy. He was the husband of Sheila (née Street) Murphy, his wife of 53 years.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Murphy had worked as an accounts manager for Coca-Cola, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a life member of the Dug Hill Rod and Gun Club and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Ocean City Reef Foundation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, Western movies, spending time in Ocean City, MD, and spending time with his grandchildren. He often quoted, "Put a smile on your face and a song in your heart."
Surviving, in addition to his wife are his children, Tammy Stearns and her husband Kevin of Manchester, William Thomas Murphy, IV and his wife Trisha of Parkton, MD, and Jason Murphy and his partner Shawna Edwards of Littlestown, PA; grandchildren, Heather Stearns, Hunter Murphy, Tommy Stearns, Kaeleigh Murphy, Ashley Murphy, Colton Murphy, and Justus Murphy; great-grandson, Waylon Ayres; sister, Mary Kennedy of Severna Park, MD; brother, Wayne Murphy of Mt. Airy, MD; and sister, Nancy Bourne of Augusta, WV; and his dog, Ruby Girl. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Powell and his dog, Lilly.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, with a funeral service beginning at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Schenning officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at Johns Hopkins Hospital, online at www.lbda.org.
