A long-time businessman, Mr. William E. "Bill" Walker, 83, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Monday, September 1, 1941, to the late Hilton Walker, Sr. and Silas Ida Walker Bailey. Mr. Walker served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. He retired as a Co-Owner of Walker Motors, Owner of Walker Insurance, and Co-Owner of Magnolia Pallet.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, Silas Ida Walker Bailey and Hilton Walker, Sr.; stepfather, Jim Bailey; nephew, Ronnie Walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Cecelia Walker of Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Deena Denise Lamke of Hattiesburg, MS; son, James David Walker (Angela) of Collinsville, MS; brother, Hilton Walker, Jr. of Waynesboro, MS; two grandchildren, Jonathan Chase Walker of Chicago, IL and Lauren Leigh Lamke of Hattiesburg, MS; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Elaine Ellis, Waynesboro, MS; six nieces and nephews, Tresa Walker, Melissa Bowen (Tony), Katie Ellis, Chris Evans (Rachel), Michael Ellis, and Brayden Ellis; great nephew, Cole Evans and Peyton Walker; great niece, Betsy Bowen Hudson.
Visitation for Mr. Walker will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. DeJuan Walley and Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
