William Wardell

January 15, 1944 - July 10, 2025

William Don Wardell, 82, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday July 10, 2025, at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Inurnment will follow in Chippiannock Cemetery.

He was born on January 15, 1944, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of William and Muriel (Hayes) Wardell. He married Donna Knight, she preceded him in death. He later married Billie Jean Meeks, she also preceded him in death.

William was the owner of Bill's Home Improvement for over 40 years, retiring in December of 2024 when his health declined. Mr. Wardell was a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors include his son, William Wardell, Macomb; daughter, Rhonda St. Dennis, Rock Island; sisters, Patti (Tom) Smith, Macomb, Carol (Randy) Pittman, Colchester, Illinois, Sandy (Randy) Harrison, Carthage, Illinois; brother, Billy Wardell; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeannie (Ed) Wardell-Christianson; and brother, Terry (Kenni) Wardell.
