In Loving Memory of William F. Wellborn Jr. March 22, 1968 – July 2, 2025
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of William "Willie" F. Wellborn Jr., who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 2nd at the age of 57.
William was born on March 22, 1968, in Morgan County, Georgia, to the late Sarah I. Wellborn and the late William F. Wellborn Sr. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many.
A proud and faithful member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Madison, William loved worship and his church family deeply. He found great joy in fellowship and community, and his spirit was a blessing to those around him.
William had a passion for arts and crafts and a deep love for the American flag - often proudly displaying it in the clothes he wore. Known for his outgoing nature, he never met a stranger. Willie could strike up a conversation with anyone, and his friendly smile left a lasting impression on all who met him.
Though he had no children of his own, William was a devoted and loving uncle. He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Lisa Martin (late Luis) and Laura Herregiun (late Aureliano); along with his cherished nieces and nephews: Jose Martinez, Alicia Vargas (Auturo), Cassandra Witherow (Richard), Luisa Martinez, Aureliano"Chino"Herregiun (Holly), Enrique Martinez (Hannah), Amparo De Leon (Gerardo), and Catalina Zuniga. He was also blessed with 8 great-nephews and 7 great nieces.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6 from 3-4pm at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4 pm in the chapel. Interment will follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
