William Luther Wright Sr., 89, of Peru passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
He was born in Hopewell, Virginia on June 22, 1936 to the late Luther Allen and Harriet Elizabeth (Burnett) Wright. William married Joyce Garland on November 16, 1956 and she survives.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. William received the rank of Technical Sergeant before his departure from the service. He later worked as a mechanic and truck driver until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children; Bill (Lisa) Wright Jr. of Crown Point, Indiana, Terry Wright of Peru, Indiana, Michelle (Dennis) Greenstein of O'Lathe, Kansas, grandchildren; Jaclynn Brumbaugh (nee Wright), Patrick (Kyli) Greenstein, Julia Wright, Samantha Greenstein, great grandchildren; Kelsey Alfrey, Jaedyn Hawkins-Wright, Brisyn Hawkins-Wright, Kamdyn Hawkins-Wright, Karsyn Hawkins-Wright, Rylan Greenstein, Emmalyn Greenstein, brother, Luther Wright Jr, and sister-in-laws, Joan (Jack) Cauldwell and Martha (Larry) Hensell.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Richard, Charles, Allen, Mary and Pat.
Visitation will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, 411 North Grant Street, Peru from 11am to noon on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Matt Myers officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
