Wilma was born on December 6, 1924, in Ash Flat, Arkansas to Bert and Mary McHenry. She graduated from Ash Flat High School. In 1945, Wilma married Lloyd Hale in Tulia, and together they built a life filled with love and hard work. Known affectionately as "Rosie the Riveter," she contributed to the war effort at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. Her industrious spirit extended to her time working at the Tulia Bakery Store, and she helped her family operate both a grocery store and a roller rink in Kress, where her vibrant personality touched the lives of many. Wilma was not only known for her work ethic but also for her warm heart and community dedication, as evidenced by her receiving the *Pioneer Spirit Award* in 2016 in Tulia. She celebrated a remarkable milestone, her 100th birthday, on December 6, 2024, surrounded by family and friends who adored her.
