Wylie Joseph Melancon, 85 a native and resident of Larose, La. passed away, Saturday, December 28, 2024 with his loving family near his side.
Father Dean Danos will celebrate a private graveside at a later date.
Wylie is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty Sapia Melancon; daughters, Mona Barrios (Jade), Shelia Adams (Chris), and Stephanie Mayet (Simon); grandchildren, Michelle, Trish, Melissa, Zackary, Ashley, and Drew; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Cole, Christian, Draven, Kaiden, and Evan; great-great-grandson, Owen; sister, Connie Melancon, and dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Judith Melancon; sister, Anna-Mae Danos; and brother, Roy Melancon.
Wylie was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Larose Civic Center, and Larose Senior Center.
The Melancon family would like to extend their gratitude to St. Anne General, Chateau Terrebonne Nursing Home, ACG Hospice, and Samart-Mothe Funeral Home for their support and guidance through this difficult time.
