Yesenia Anilu Mendez, age 53, of Ligonier, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Ligonier, Indiana. She was born on May 27, 1972, to Jorge “Coke” and Maria “Cony” Mendez in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Jaramillo; mother, Maria “Cony” Mendez; sister, Judy (Marco) Garcia; niece, Ginger Garcia; nephews, Kelvin (Marielos) Garcia and Marco Garcia Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, Jorge “Coke” Mendez, and two sons, Jorge Enrique Jaramillo and Hector Francisco Jimenez. Her family loved and cherished her deeply. They all find comfort in knowing that she is in heaven with her sons, and father.

A proud graduate of her local high school in Guatemala, Yesenia's quest for knowledge led her on to attend nursing courses at La Guardia Community College, where she embraced learning with the same enthusiasm and determination she applied to every facet of her life. In the professional realm, Yesenia found her home in production at Silgan within the manufacturing industry. It was here that her exemplary work ethic and collaborative nature shone brightly. She made a lot of friends there that made working at Silgan a wonderful experience.

Yesenia always found the beauty in things. She loved nature, animals, and movies. She thought watching a movie was like going on a little adventure. She was a very creative soul. She loved arts and crafts. She loved making jewelry, hair accessories, party favors, and much more. She shared that creativity with the family and they will carry that torch and will continue creating beauty in the world in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Yesenia’s honor may be sent to
