Zelma Juanita Bennett, 85, a longtime resident of Vinita, Oklahoma, passed away at Maple Healthcare and Rehab in Fairland, Oklahoma, on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Zelma was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 26, 1940, to Zell and Flower Ella (Hunter) Morrison. Zelma graduated from White Oak High School in 1958. She worked at Vinita Flag and Apron for thirty-three and a half years until her retirement. When she was not working, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a great friend who always showed her loving and caring side to all she knew. Zelma is preceded in passing by her parents, Zell and Flower Ella Morrison.
Those left to share the beautiful memory of Zelma include her children, Tammy Clark of Vinita, James Layton of Vinita, and David Layton of Fairland, siblings, Zella Hogan, Dewey Morrison and wife, Lilly Jewel, and Willy Morrison and wife, Barbara.
Grandchildren include Casey McCabe and wife Brooke, Tabitha Wyatt and husband Brian, Tiffany Eichhorn and husband Caleb, David Layton, and Nicholas Layton. Great-grandchildren include Raelee Moore and Husband Nick, Dayton French, Bodhi Wyatt, Trevor Eichhorn, Cabe Eichhorn, Jonah McCabe, Madi McCabe, Brandon Meeks, Jessica Meeks, Jaxon Eichhorn, and Tegan Eichhorn.
Visitation for Zelma will be Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland, Oklahoma.
Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland, Oklahoma.
