BUTCH HIGDON Obituary

BUTCH HIGDON Butch Higdon, resident of McLoud, Okla., passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was 83 years old. Butch grew up working on the Higdon Dairy Farm. He worked hard much of his life milking cows and tending to the farm and usually ran everywhere he went. Butch was always on the go. He loved bowling, skating, and going to team roping practice. He was an avid fan of McLoud basketball and football and loved attending games. This year, he was inducted as an honorary member into the McLoud Athletic Hall of Fame. Butch also loved music. All music was country music to him just like all shows were cowboy shows. He was a faithful member of McLoud Church of Christ and always enjoyed the singing most of all. Butch also had a sweet tooth satiated by candy corn and 3 Musketeers. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Lelon Higdon. Survivors include his brothers, Paul Higdon and wife Jane of McLoud and Gary Higdon and wife Beverly of Mustang, Okla., as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. A funeral ceremony for Butch will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at McLoud Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Paul Allen Higdon, Scott Higdon, Shannon Higdon, Jimmy Higdon, Gerad McKiney, Kevin Boyer, and Jeff Nolen.
