Dorothea Buchanan Obituary
Middlebrook - Dorothea Ann "Dottie", "Dot" (Fitzgerald) Buchanan, 63, wife of Lonald W. Buchanan, of McKinley Road, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Augusta Health.
She was born on February 8, 1958 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of Mavis Lee (Coffey) Fitzgerald and the late Charlie Richard Fitzgerald.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter, Amanda Shipp and husband, Michael; a sister, Freida Clark; and Devyn, a special little girl whom Dottie adored and was MawMaw too.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa Fitzgerald; and a brother, C.R. Fitzgerald.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Strickler and Brother Eddie Godbey. Burial will follow in the Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 14 in the funeral home.

To my precious Dot. You became a very special and wonderful part of my life. At first friends in the community bible studies then you allowed myself and my girls to become part of your family after my mom passed away. You loved us and took care of us. You gave my granddaughter an extra MawMaw to love. We love you with all our hearts and will always have wonderful memories. You are now in your Heavenly home. I will miss you.
