Anne Elliott Horner

May 31, 1930 - July 1, 2025

New Bern, North Carolina - Anne Marie Elliott Horner, age 95, passed away July 1, in Washington.

She was an active member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church for more than 65 years. Anne retired from the Tryon Palace after 44 years where she held several positions most notably as the greeter and ticket seller to visitors. She was a wealth of information for visitors to Tryon Palace and New Bern.

Travel was her favorite pass-time in her earlier years and socializing with her many friends in later years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward Elliott and Mamie Nelson, her husband Walter Horner and her sister Betsy West.

She is survived by her sons Michael Horner (Holly) of Manakin Sabot, VA; Elliott Horner (Patricia) of Feura Bush NY; and Edward Horner (Lisa) of Callicoon, NY. Also, she is survived by her grandchildren, Emily Horner, Sara Hope, Adrian Horner, Neala Jacobs, Austin Horner, and Brandon Spott and six great-grandchildren.

Too many memories to tell them all. Among them our many, many hours selling tickets at Tryon Palace and her knowledge of the site. Our wonderful trip to Alaska, and all of our time at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Rest in peace. dear friend
