Barbara Newmark passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Danbury Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Abner and Mary Miller (Sherwood ). Barbara was wife of the late William Newmark. She was born on September 23,1932 in Fairfield, CT.
Barbara was a Registered Nurse at Norwalk, then Danbury Hospital for many years. She loved nursing. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She was also quite fond of visiting the casinos.
Barbara is survived by her son, Brian Abbott and wife, Danelia, of Newtown; and daughter, Debra (Abbott) Bergeron and husband, Robert, of New Bedford, MA. Stepchildren William J. Newmark and wife, Patrice, of Newtown; Gary V. Newmark and wife, Debra, of Callands, VA; James B. Newmark and wife, Tracy, of Haverstraw, New York; Chandra (Newmark) Weising and husband, Mark, of Old Hickory, TN; one Sister Carol Tyler. Barbara is also survived by many wonderful grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her first husband, William Abbott.
Celebration of life gathering will be held from 11 - 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 p.m., Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street.
