James Marshall Harris

James Marshall Harris, 87 passed peacefully into eternal life on August 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation was held Friday, August 23 from 6-8pm at United Pentecostal Church Mendota. Services were Saturday, August 24 at 11am in the church, Rev. James Hollingsworth officiating, with burial following at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, LaSalle. Wasmer Funeral was privileged to assist the family.
James was born August 1, 1937, in Roger Springs, Tennessee to George Forrest and Maudie Mae (Robinson) Harris. He was a 1958 graduate of Manila High School, Manila, Arkansas. On July 6, 1960, he married the love of his life Ruthie Mae Robertson in Kennett, Missouri.
During his extended work career, he was a machinist, forklift driver and Group Leader for 35 years with Motor Wheel Corp., Eakas Corp., and though "retired" raised and sold vegetables and fruits at the local farmer's market.
James was Apostolic. He served as a board member of First Pentecostal Church Peru since its inception in September of 2009.
He lives forever in the memories of his daughter, Virginia (James) Hollingsworth of LaSalle, 4 sons: James Cecil (Deanna) Harris of Ladd, Terry (Sheryl) Harris of Malden, Nathan (Sonia) Harris of Cherry, Gregory (Dennis Jones) Harris of Hudson, FL., 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters: Ruby Cox of Mississippi and Donnie Eubanks of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruthie Mae 12/9/2018, grandson Jaron Hollingsworth, brother George Harris and 3 sisters: Earlene Stone, Mildred Sexton and Louise Durham.
Pallbearers were Brendan Hollingsworth, Caleb Hollingsworth, Kyler Hollingsworth, Cecil Harris, Gregory Harris, Nathan Harris and Terry Harris. Memorials may be directed to the family or First United Pentecostal Church PO Box 1654 LaSalle, IL 61301. Condolences may be left at wasmerfuneralhome.com.
