John 'Jack' Fitzgerald III

John "Jack" Fitzgerald III, formerly of Richmond, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Elder Care Cottages in Waterford, WI.
He was born in Waukegan, IL on October 23, 1935, a son of the late Elsa (Parker) and John Fitzgerald Jr.
He was married to Mary June Efinger in Lake Forest, IL on May 7, 1960, and she preceded him in death March 24, 1981.
He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Richmond, IL.
He graduated Loyola Academy High School in Chicago, then graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor's degree in journalism/sociology. He and Mary June were 4-H leaders, CCD teachers, and Jack was a former member of Spring Grove PTO.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from Dec. 1957 to March 1963.
He worked for Sinclair Oil from 1961-1967, Abbott Labs from '67 to '71, retail sales/management from '71 to '84, and vending/sales from '84 until retiring in 2001.
Survivors are four daughters, Kelly (Peter) Atkinson, of Delavan, Wi; Peggy (Dan Lyons) Fitzgerald, of Woodstock, IL; Anne (James) Lyons, of Round Lake, IL; Mary Eileen (Adam) Tosi, of Twin Lakes, WI; sons Michael (Dorothy) Fitzgerald, of Eau Claire, WI; Patrick (Katherine) Fitzgerald, of Park City, IL; Timothy (Drew) Fitzgerald-Wilk, of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren Calie Lyons, Nick Lyons, Sarah (Greg) Carter, Elsa Fitzgerald, Nathan Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald; a great granddaughter Edith Carter; and two brothers Gerald Fitzgerald of Grayslake, IL and Peter (Shirley) Fitzgerald of Deerfield, IL. In addition to Mary June, he was preceded by his parents and a sister-in-law Bea Fitzgerald.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Richmond. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday February 10, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10519 Main St, Richmond, IL. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Richmond, IL.
