Patricia Peleschak Obituary

Patricia "Patti" Peleschak
Born: October 17, 1958 in Hoffman Estates, IL
Died: May 8, 2025 in Marengo, IL
Patricia Lynn Peleschak, 66, of Marengo, Illinois, passed peacefully at home on May 8th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 17th, 1958, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, to William and Florence (McAndrews) Meier. She completed her family, joining her two older sisters Frances and Diane. She graduated high school from Conant High in Hoffman Estates. After high school, she became an expert in English horseback riding at the Little Creek Stables. Patti started her family in 1979 with her son Steve, followed by son Thomas, Jason, & Traci, with the youngest being grandson Kyle. She started working at Woodfield Ford at age 15, followed by Mobil Oil, medical transcription, followed by her favorite job, Garden Prairie Feed, and lastly, after earning her certification, as a pharmacy tech at Brandts Pharmacy. Through her whole life, Patti loved dogs the most, and started showing AKC Collies in 2004, earning several awards. She was a longstanding member of the Collie Club of America. She raised her beloved dogs, as well as doves, canaries & chickens, as well as riding horses. Her first competition at the Boone County Fair ended with the first-place win for Brewster the Rooster. Patti and her husband Bruce enjoyed a lot of travel, especially anywhere with mountains. They travelled to Denver, Colorado; Munich, Germany; Switzerland; and Seattle, Washington (where her dad loved to go). Patti was all about love, forgiveness and kindness. She loved humor and laughing, anytime, anywhere. She enjoyed a good hamburger and fish sandwich. She enjoyed benefitting from her husband's culinary skills. She loved her children more than anything in the world, accepting all their choices and appreciating them for who they were. Patti was a loving and accommodating wife (only saying no to cruises). She would go to the ends of the earth to make the people she loved happy and secure. She was proud of the work Bruce did, never complaining about the shift work, holidays, and extra hours he put in. Patti loved to help things grow, from her houseplants to her animals. She loved her front yard and never wanted to leave it. At a young age, she learned to play the piano, which she continued to practice throughout her life. Patti enjoyed a peaceful, quiet day spent reading or taking photos, taking after her dad. But she was also deeply connected to the people around her, going out to lunch with friends and neighbors, and showing them all the love and kindness that she had to give. Patti will be forever loved as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, and her memory will be cherished by all those blessed to have her in their lives. Patti will be dearly missed by her husband, Bruce Peleschak; her children Steve & Traci, Thomas & Jason; and her grandson Kyle. Patti was preceded in death by her parents William & Florence Meier; her sisters Frances & Diane; her godson, Jeff Leitz; her mother-in-law Dorothy or "Dot"; and her first canine love Sandy.
