Sandra Kay Zeman (Elwood), 66, of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Life Care Center of the Willows in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born on May 10, 1959, in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of the late Arthur Ugene Elwood and Alice Marie Goodwin. Sandy was a 1977 graduate of East Gary Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana. She moved to Choctaw, Arkansas in 1990 where she worked and managed a little mom and pop store before quitting her job to become the full-time caregiver of her mother who suffered from Alzheimer's. She is survived by her son Jason (Nichole) Zeman of Westville, Indiana, brother Art (Sue) Elwood of Valparaiso, Indiana, sisters Cory (Larry) Moseman of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Karen (Scott) Barrett of Portage, Indiana, granddaughters Madelynn and Lauren Zeman of Portage, Indiana and grandson Dylan Zeman of Westville, Indiana. Preceded in death by brother David Elwood, sisters Diane (Elwood) Thornton and Debbie Elwood.
