KAREN HAKIM Obituary

HAKIM--Karen Carlson. Karen Carlson Hakim of Chappaqua, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29th. Karen was born on July 30, 1946, and raised in Valley Stream, NY by parents Eileen and Donald Carlson. She was the oldest of four children. She was a proud alumna of Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY and had a career at Citibank before she became a mother. Karen was the beloved wife of Joseph Hakim, cherished mother of Alexandra Hakim and Christian Hakim, motherin-law of Nicole Hakim and Christopher Snyder, doting grandmother of Andrew and Natalie Hakim and James and Claire Snyder and best friend to her sister Christine Morley. Throughout her 45 years living in Chappaqua, Mrs. Hakim was an active participant in the community. The Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville is in charge of services. The funeral service will be held at Saint Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church, 191 South Greely Avenue, Chappaqua, on Wednesday, February 5th, at 1pm. Burial will follow and a reception for friends of the family will be held immediately afterwards. Donations may be made in Karen's name to the Chappaqua Garden Club and the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
