Ricky Fuller Obituary

Ricky Vaughn Fuller

September 4, 1950 - July 18, 2025

Ricky Vaughn "Fishman" Fuller, 74, of Notasulga, Alabama, passed away on July 18, 2025. Born on September 4, 1950, in Tallassee, Alabama, Ricky lived a life rooted in hard work, having fun, and a curiosity for the world around him.

Known affectionately as "Fishman," Ricky loved to fish and found peace and purpose in the quiet rhythm of casting a line. His love for fishing began when his father would take him and his older brothers. Whether on the banks of a local creek or riding old dirt roads with friends and family, he cherished every moment. Not one to sit still, he was always finding something to tinker with and there were plenty of places to go.

Ricky drove a dump truck for 40 plus years, logging hundreds of thousands of miles with many a stop to get peanut butter crackers and an ice cold drink. Early on, you could find him at the home place where he stopped to get a sausage biscuit that his mother kept warm or coming to Sunday dinners with family. Ricky had a natural talent for fixing things. He could often be found working on an engine, always eager to solve problems and bring things back to life. Later in his life, Ricky loved to sift through junk, picking out treasures to share with family and friends, whether they wanted them or not.

He is survived by his devoted wife Beth; son Vaughn Fuller and daughter-in-law Kanesha; daughter Crystal Fuller; sister Leisha McDaniel; brothers Steve Fuller and Stan Fuller; sister-in-law Gay McGuire; two beloved grandchildren, Sophia Faith Fuller and Brody Fuller and great grandson Easton. We can't forget his beloved dog and constant companion Missy. Ricky's family was central to his life.

He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Fuller, mother Mavis Fuller, and brother Don Fuller.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Ricky Vaughn "Fishman" Fuller will be remembered as someone who lived life on his terms. He kicked up the dust on the road and in life. He will truly be missed. May his life bring fond memories and comfort to those who knew him.
