Agnes Williams Obituary

Agnes E. Williams, 93, of Houston, died Friday, February 2, 2024, in her home. She was born February 24, 1930, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Mike and Irene Simon Esecoff. Agnes was active in the Central Assembly of God, in Houston. She received her G.E.D. and went on to attend the Maison Felix Beauty School in Pittsburgh. Agnes retired in 1992 from being a hairdresser for over 40 years. On December 23, 1950, in Houston, she married the love of her life, Allen "Ack" Williams, who passed January 3, 2000. In her free time, Agnes enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, working in the yard and solving crossword puzzles. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa (Vince) Presto of Amity; a granddaughter, Brandy (Brant) Wietasch; a great-granddaughter, Sadie Wietasch; a nephew, Gregory Williams, who was more like a son and her best buddy; and several other nieces and nephews. Deceased are five brothers: Jim, George, Carl, Pete and Harry. The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Haley at the Hillman Cancer Center, and staff for helping Agnes reach her goal of meeting her great-granddaughter. They would also like to thank Gateway Hospice for their care. Friends will be received 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Central Assembly of God, 155 McGovern Road, Houston, where services will follow at 11 a.m. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Gateway Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
