Mary Hinrichs Obituary

Mary Ruth (Alder) Hinrichs passed away on the evening of Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and will be dearly missed. She was born in Preston, Idaho, on July 13, 1957, to Mack Webb and Ruth Ann (Larsen) Alder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Ruth; her parents-in-law, Roy and Ethel Hinrichs; and her brother, Wayne Alder.

Mary graduated from Preston High School in 1975 and later married RC Hinrichs on September 8, 1983. She had a fondness for the sea and lighthouses, particularly cherishing a trip to the Oregon coast with RC. Mary also enjoyed nearly annual trips to visit her daughter's family in Florida and Massachusetts. Throughout her life, she served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, mainly in the Primary and Young Women's organizations, where she loved teaching and inspiring children and youth with the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mary's love for her family was unparalleled. She especially treasured the annual family reunions at their home in Preston, Idaho, creating fun memories on each occasion.

Mary is survived by her husband R.C., her children, Ryan (Andrea), Jacob (Teri), Tonya (Jamie), Nicole (Nick), Matthew, Alex (Haley), Amanda, Alice (Matt), and David (Karen); her 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her brother RL Alder and sister Jeanne Ann (Ed) Farmbrook.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Preston 3rd Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, Idaho. Viewings will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
