He and his wife shared their love of turkey hunting with their family and were often in search of the Bearded Gobbler.

Don was a cartoonist and shared his characters with family and friends whenever he sent cards or notes. He also loved to be involved in local goings-on, often documenting things daily through words and photographs.

Don enjoyed reading and gardening and had a great love for many dogs/pets during his lifetime. No matter where he went or who he talked to, his love for Jesus was often shared.
