Our dearly loved mother, grandmother, GG, and triple G, Merle "Maxine" (Foster) Scofield, passed to her rest on October 7, 2025 at the age of 100 in Lincoln, Neb. For 59 years she stood by her husband and Seventh-day Adventist pastor, Paul Scofield, as a faithful supporter and helper in his work of spreading the gospel. Born in Devils Lake, N.D., she leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith in her dear Lord Jesus, spunk, and sparkle.

Maxine is survived by her son, David (Anita) Scofield; daughter, Judy (Ken) Finnell; son-in-law, Jan Follett; her half-sisters, Loel (Foster) Steagall, Linda (Foster) McEwen; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter; and cousin, Phyllis Wood (Foster).

Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Paul Scofield; parents, Lloyd and Florence (Johnson) Foster; brother, Lloyd Jr "Sunny" Foster; half-brother, Albert Stratton Foster; daughters, Paula (Scofield) Follett, Kathy Mae Scofield; and grandson, Jeremy Scofield; great great-grandson, Othniel Le.
