Charles "Chuck" Anthony Dickerson, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023, in Richmond, Virginia.Born on January 20, 1938, in Norwalk, CA, he was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Arthur Dickerson, and siblings Arthur "Art" (Jean), Shirley (Gene), Faye, and John (Sherry), all of whom proceeded him in death. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Jean, with whom he shared 46 years of joy and companionship. Devoted to his family, Chuck is survived by 4 children: Mike (Laura), Joanna (Steve), Charles "Chipper" (Susan), and Debra "Debbie" (David), his grandchildren: Abe (Rene), Cody (Bryce), Leah (Donny), Ashley, Amanda (Nicole), Stephanie (Brandon), Tiffany (Matt), Kirbi (Cole), Danicka, Kami, Megan, and great-grandchildren: Cal, Silas, Greta, Mathilde, Anke, Whitney (Jordan), Dylan (Kelsey), Carson, David-Ray, Charlie, Jackson, Jamie, Declan, Jesse, Bryson, and great-great-grandchildren: Ellie, Ridge, and McCrae.Chuck found joy in watching football, spending time in the ocean fishing, and travelling with his wife. Friends and family will remember him for his wisdom, sense of humor, and the positive impact he had on those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and love that will be cherished by generations to come.A funeral to celebrate Charles Anthony Dickerson's life will be held on Saturday, December 9 at Good Shepherd Cemetery at 8301 Talbert Avenue Huntington Beach, CA 92646. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The GI Research Foundation in his and his granddaughter, Megan Kraus' honor.
