Lloyd White Obituary

Long-time Fullerton resident Lloyd Maynard White died at the age of 95 on January 12, 2024 in Visalia, CA. He was born in Whittier on July 25, 1928, to John L. and Marion R. (Chase) White, and lived nearly all his life in Whittier and Fullerton. Lloyd was a graduate of Stanford University, with bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering. He and his wife Virginia met in Whittier, and were married August 3, 1952. They moved to Fullerton in 1956 where they were active for many years in the First United Methodist Church and the North Orange County YMCA. Lloyd's engineering career was with Autonetics (North American Rockwell) from 1952 to 1989. He was an avid train enthusiast who also enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, learning about the world, and socializing with friends. Following his retirement, he taught computer classes for seniors at Cal State Fullerton and at the Morningside retirement community. Lloyd enjoyed watching trains with his friends at the Fullerton Amtrak station.Lloyd is survived by his sister Genevieve Turman of Annapolis, MD, wife Virginia of Hanford, CA, daughter Sandra (Nathan Hardee) of Austin, TX, son Paul of Coalinga, CA, and son Russell (Cindy Buxton) of Haines, AK, as well as 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is lovingly remembered by family and friends as a kind and patient man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
