COREY RICHARD NEWTON Corey Richard Newton, age 24, of Mio, MI, passed away Friday, July 11th, at Munson Medical Center, in Traverse City, MI. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on October 27, 2000, to Lisa M. (Bodi) Bey. Corey played football for Mio Ausable High School. He attended Kirtland Community College, majoring in criminal justice. Corey enjoyed Airsoft with his friends growing up. He was a firefighter and photographer. He ran "Corey's Auto Detailing," and worked with Paul Rowden at Complete Lawn and Garden, Inc. Corey loved riding his E-bike, traveling many trails with it. He was a devout Christian, having a deep love for the Lord. Anyone who knew Corey knew that he lived his life to the fullest. He loved the community and the friendships that he had made in Mio, and he will be dearly missed. Corey is survived by his mother, Lisa Bey; uncle, Sean Bodi; grandmother, Phyllis Tucker, and lots of extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jon Bodi. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025 at TriPoint Church of God in Mio, MI from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jody Coon officiating. The interment will be at Mentor Township Cemetery in Mio, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
