Cindy Govani Obituary

Cindy Mason Govani died.
She grew up poor, died poor and had a great life.
She never flew on an airplane, never took a cruise,
She loved to work in her yard, loved her dogs,
and truly loved her daughter Shaheda.

She loved having people over,
her wonderful Roosevelt grade school friends,
and her neighborhood picnics.

She always wore jeans and tennis shoes,
liked working with stained glass,
didn't mind getting dirty
and drove around in her old pick-up truck.

It was a great life.

Dear Mom

You have taught me what matters most
in life is people and how you treat them.
That time is the most valuable thing.

To have gratitude for loved ones, friends and nature.
Listening to music that moves your body and soul.
To embrace the senses: sight to experience nature,
taste to enjoy a meal with someone you love,
touch to feel the warm sun on your back.

You have taught me to embrace life in all of its imperfections
because a great life is one that is lived with no limits.
Hug those that matter and feel joy for all that is today.
Give of your heart and take chances.

I love you, Shaheda

Cindy will be missed

By her daughter, Shaheda Govani,
her son-in-law Neil Dekarske, who was like the son she never had
and her granddogs.

She will be greatly missed by her close friends, and family.

Cindy lived her life like an amusement park ride,
full of fun, laughter, and adventure.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a scholarship fund has been established
in Cindy's honor.

I'm so sorry Shaheda. Your mom was definitely one of a kind and I loved her spirit. She was not only my cousin but my godmother and I think I inherited some of her spunk by proxy. I'll hold you in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Through the years Cindy sent me pics of her dog, stained glass and other projects she did. Last Christmas she sent pic of her beautifully decorated tree, not an empty space on it! I asked how long it took & she said all day. Because she liked to see other people's trees, I sent my "Charlie Brown" pic which I 'm sure she chuckled at!
Cindy was a fun loving, caring and giving person. I was blessed to grow up with her as my friend.
My prayers are with Shaheda and family.
