James Harris Obituary
Jim was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Galatia, the son of Brooks and Callie Harris.
He moved to Manteno after high school to work at Manteno State Hospital. Jim then went on to work at Mortells (Dow), until his retirement.
He liked working on his cars and going to antique car shows. Jim enjoyed watching just about all sports, but especially college football and basketball. He also liked doing his crossword puzzles.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Kay; son, Chris; and one sister, Barbara Taylor.
Surviving are a brother, Robert Harris; daughter, Karen Coveyou; three grandchildren, Kelli (Josh) Clymer, Kasey (Eric) Hartman and Daniel (Jessie) Guimond; and seven great-grandchildren, Caleb and Khloe Clymer, Kallie, Reid and Katherine Hartman and Ryder and Rowyn Guimond.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a private service at a later date for the family.
Funeral arrangements are by Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee.
