Norma J. Mason

September 3, 1938 - April 5, 2025

NORMAL - Norma J. Mason, age 86, of Normal, IL, passed away peacefully at 12:53 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Evergreen Place in Normal, IL. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL, followed by her funeral service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Trey Haddon. Norma will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in Downs, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The National Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer's Research.

Born on September 3, 1938, in Cisco, IL, Norma was the beloved daughter of John Wilbur and Beulah Sparks Curtis. She married her devoted husband, Donald "Don" Mason, on January 19, 1957, who continues to cherish their shared memories.

Norma is survived by her loving children, Brian (Joyce) Mason of Bloomington, IL, and Tara Mason of Chicago, IL. Her legacy is further carried by her three grandchildren, Hayley, Tyler Mason, and Caitlin Luttrell, and two great-grandchildren, Andi and Liam. She is also survived by her brothers, Lynn (Deborah) Curtis of Sycamore, IL, and Larry (Connie) Curtis of Peotone, IL.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her cherished son Curtis Mason (2007), her sisters, Wyonna (Don) Forrest and Marcia (Jim) Long, and her brother, Kenneth (Carol) Curtis.

Norma was a devoted member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, IL. Her dedication to her community was evident through her work with District 87 in the School Lunch Program and her volunteering at the gift shop at St. Joseph Medical Center. A passionate Chicago Cubs fan, Norma's spirit was as vibrant and enduring as her love for the game and her family.

So sorry to learn this. I worked with Norma at State Farm in the 1960s. She was such a pleasant person and kind to me. Thinking of the family.
