Calvin R. Saxon, 80, of Abbeville, husband of the late Delores ‘Loppy’ Saxon, died Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late Randolph Suel Saxon and Ida Wells Saxon.
Mr. Saxon had a fulfilling career as a Sheet Metal Fabricator and dedicated his later years to cattle farming. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and participated in the Rabbits Unlimited Hunt Club, where he enjoyed sharing his passion for nature and community.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Saxon and a brother, Charles Douglas Saxon.
Mr. Saxon is survived by his two sons, Randy Saxon of Pelzer, SC and Tony Saxon (Connie) of Laurens, SC; a sister, Donna Lee Canada (David) of Travelers Rest, SC; two grandchildren, Justin Saxon (Haleigh) and Jeffrey Temple (Layce) and five great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3:00PM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scott Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
