Sarah Edwards Obituary

On June 5, 2022, Sarah Jones Edwards went home to be with the Lord after a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Indiana, raised in Northern Virginia, and retired in Virginia Beach.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Mahlon; her parents, Ellis and Dorothy Jones; and her siblings, Barbara, Peggy, and Bob. She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth and husband Jeff, Matthew and wife Angela, Kathleen, and Christina; twelve grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher, Cameron, Christian, Jessica, Jonathan, Austin, Alex, Brittany, Alexandra, Samantha, and Ryan; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family was blessed with a devoted and loving caregiver of 12 years, Theresa Sailor, who affectionately nicknamed Sarah 'ladybug'.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed horses, softball, and spending time with family. Her smile and presence on this earth will be missed by all.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m. with burial and reception to follow.
