Anthony Brown Obituary


ANTHONY "TONY" BROWN, 80, of Otway, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 20, 2025. He was born July 2, 1945 in Otway to Arthur and Mary (Faul) Brown who proceeded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years Elizabeth "San" (Ralstin) Brown. One daughter Amy (Shawn) Spencer of Otway. Three grandchildren, Mary Beth Maynard (Doug Dust) of Otway, Jake Carter of Lancaster and Emma Carter (Ethan Skidmore) of Sciotoville. One great-grandson Gunner Douglas Dust. He is survived by two brothers Danny (Kathy) Brown of Otway, Jake of Miami FLA and sister Donna Kay of Atlanta GA. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Shirley Ralstin of McDermott, Mary Nordstrom of Canal Winchester, Becky Hale of Otway, Rose and Mitch Swayne of Baltimore OH, Dave and Priscilla Ralstin of Otway and Bob and Joanne Ralstin of Otway. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Special family members: Phyllis Ralstin of Otway, Susan Ralstin of McDermott, Beth and Tim Gilbert of Minford and Rufus and Shelley Tackett of Otway.
He was a 1964 graduate of Northwest High School. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He worked 9 years out of Laborers Union Local 83 of Portsmouth, OH.
He retired from Ironworkers Union Local 769 of Ashland, KY after 49 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to work often saying "work was the greatest gift God gave him". He attended Oswego Church in Otway.
He was proceeded in death by one brother Elvin, sisters Opal Irene, Esther, Evie, Tommie, June, Alice and Sharon. Father and mother-in-law Chester and Betty Ralstin and brothers-in-law Mark Nordstrom and Stephen "Sonny" Hale, as well as one nephew Seth Ralstin.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

I am so sad to hear of his passing. He was a great friend and fishing companion. I loved his optimism. He was always looking for that big bass around the next corner and would tell me it was gonna be so big it would break my arm. I hope you find him, Tony.

Dear Sandy and Amy. So sorry to hear about Tony. I remember him stopping and talking to me whenever he was in Walmart. He was always shopping for Fish stuff!! And always made me laugh. My heart breaks for all of you. Thoughts and prayers.
