CHARLEEN GILBERT Obituary

Charleen A. Gilbert, 86, of Gaines, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at The Green Home, Wellsboro. Born Dec. 19, 1934 in Gaines Township, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Alice (White) Brown.
Charleen was a graduate of Gaines High School. She worked at Galeton Production, Wundies in Westfield and was a waitress at area restaurants. She was a member of the Valley Alliance Church in Ansonia. She enjoyed playing bingo and knitting.
Surviving are four sons, Terry (Sandy) Brown, Knoxville, Neil (Debbie) Langan, Galeton, Kevin (Mary) Langan, Appomattox, Va. and Carl Langan, Jr., Union City; three daughters, Tammy Gilbert, Elk River, Minn., Lynda Painter, Westfield and Espie (Steve Nye) Langan, Athens, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Dayton (Joyce) Brown, Germania; a sister, Gail Ruef, Westfield and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Charleen was predeceased by her husband, Cleon Gilbert; three sons, Harold, James and Myron Langan; a daughter, Lisa Langan and a sister, Faye Erickson.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Valley Alliance Church in Ansonia on Friday, July 9, from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Alliance Church, 4858 US Route 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Galeton.
