Alexandra Keyes Obituary

Alexandra Woropaieff Keyes
Alexandra Woropaieff Keyes, known to all as Alla, passed at the age of 94 in Petaluma, California.
Born to Russian Immigrants Alex and Catherine Woropaieff, she was raised in Petaluma. After graduating from Petaluma High School, she then went on to Cal Berkeley where she graduated and met her future husband James "Ned" Keyes. They were married for 46 years until Ned's passing in 1992.
When the kids were older she went back to school at Sonoma State and received her teaching credential. She taught Special Education for Santa Rosa City Schools. An accomplished violinist and seamstress, she played with the Santa Rosa Symphony and the Baroque Symphonia. In later years she enjoyed traveling and quilting. She reunited with her Russian Orthodox faith by joining the parish at St. Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Church which kept her busy for many years.
She is survived by her children Bob Keyes (Cindy), Sue Schick, Gary Keyes (Cindy) and Julie Collins (Ed). Also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and her sister Vera Slade.
The family extends its appreciation and gratitude to Father Lawrence Margitich and the community at St. Seraphim of Sarov for all that they have done for our Mom.
In lieu flowers, please consider a donation to St Seraphim of Sarov Church.
