Mr Geoffrey Whorton Hewitt sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on May 9, 2022.
Born in Eckington, he lived in the Chesterfield area for the majority of his life. Geoff worked for the National Coal Board in the finance department throughout his working life mainly at Bolsover Headquarters and High Moor Colliery.
In his younger years Geoff played cricket for Bolsover CC and also played bowls. He enjoyed holidays abroad with his late wife Wendy, especially in Greece. He was keen on most sports and was a Chesterfield FC season ticket holder for a number of years.
Geoff leaves his sister Janet and brother-in-law Ian, brother Dave and his partner Jo, brother-in-law Keith, nephews and nieces Joanne, Lynne, Alison, Gordon and Robert plus great nephew and nieces Millie, Ruby, Hallie and Zac.
The funeral service is due to take place at All Saints Church, Heath on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 11.30am, followed by cremation at Chesterfield Crematorium at 12.50pm.
