Joseph Boger Obituary
August 16, 1944 - June 28, 2025
Joseph K. Boger Jr., age 80, of Galloway NJ, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on August 16, 1944, in the Harrisburg, PA, area to the late Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth Boger. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1962 and went on to build a career in mechanical construction. He spent many years working in Atlantic City during the casino boom, where he was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. Joe managed many projects through the years and later enjoyed traveling as a consultant. He also served in the Army National Guard, where he formed some lifelong friendships.
In 2001, Joe married Janet (nee Osborne), in a unique wedding ceremony on horseback in Gatlinburg TN, marking the start of many adventures and travel abroad together. At home, they enjoyed life on their small farm with their many animals (horses, goats, chickens, dogs and cats). Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, camping, horseback riding, hunting, and spending time at his gun club. He also took great pride in coaching his kids' sports teams as they grew up.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather who deeply cherished his family. Joe will be remembered for his hard-working nature, loyalty, dedication, selflessness, sarcasm and the strong bonds he built with those around him.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Boger; his children and their spouses, Sommer (Justin) Roxas, Joseph (Caitlyn) Boger III, and Lauren (Barry) Steiner; his grandchildren, Justin Jr. and Cecelia Roxas, Ainsley and Joseph Boger IV, and Cinda and Cameron Steiner; and his siblings, Jan Sweigert and Michelle Boger. He was predeceased by his brother, Clyde Boger, and his parents, Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth Boger. Joe also leaves behind his loyal dog, Butchie.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 8th, at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E. Great Creek Rd., Galloway, NJ, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. and a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. For directions and condolences please visit, wimbergfuneralhome.com.

My heart is breaking for Janet and all of Joe´s family. Although I didn´t really know him. I knew so much about him from Janet and what a wonderful man he was. She was an amazing wife and loved him so much and always made sure he was well taken care of as he had health issues towards the end. God bless his soul and God bless you, Janet and his children and grandchildren .

I worked with Joe for many years when I was in South Jersey. He worked for a Mechanical Contractor and I worked for an Insulation Contractor. He was a good many.
