Judith Boxman Obituary

Judith Crossen Boxman

January 20, 1942 - January 19, 2025

Judith (Judy) Crossen Boxman, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away January 19, 2024, at age 82.

Born January 20, 1942, to John and Naomi Crossen (Diamond), Judy was raised in Sea Isle City, NJ and attended Ocean City High School and the University of Delaware. Judy married the love of her life, Ronald Stanley Boxman, when they eloped in Delaware in 1960. They started their newlywed life in Margate, NJ. In the early stages of her married life, Judy raised her four children and was a wonderfully loving, caring and giving mother.

Judy and Ron purchased Diamond's Liquor Store in 1971 and moved the family to Sea Isle City, NJ. Judy helped run the successful liquor store with Ron for the next 20 years until they sold the business and moved to Marmora, NJ. After her children had grown, she began her professional career in real estate. Because of her love of helping people, this was a wonderful way for her to continue this endeavor. Judy had a very successful real estate career for seven years. When she retired from real estate, she began working at the Ocean City Free Public Library, where she created many new friendships and wonderful experiences.

Judy's true passion revolved around the equestrian world. As a young girl, she learned to ride horses and enjoyed competing in horse shows. Judy loved caring for horses and spending time at the barn. She was the first "Horse Whisperer" and had special relationships with these majestic animals her entire life. Her favorite horses were Twiggy, Pride, and Dixie Diamond, who was named after her beloved grandfather. In her later years, she volunteered at Atlantic Riding Center for the Handicapped, which offered therapeutic riding for all ages for people with disabilities.

Above all, Judy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; and was the steadfast and devoted babysitter for many years. She especially cherished her eight grandchildren and created special memories with each and every one. When she and Ron moved to the Fairways in Mays Landing NJ, they made a lot of wonderful friends and enjoyed hanging out at the pool, card games and the many events in the community. She loved playing Mahjong, was member of the dance troop, and most days could be seen walking around the community listening to her headphones, getting exercise.

Judy was predeceased by her mother and father, Naomi and John Crossen; and by her daughter, Renee Rimkus; and two grandchildren, Justin Boxman and Bobby Rimkus. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; son, Jonathan Boxman (Abby), son, Brian Boxman (Rachel); daughter, Alyson Levine (Michael); grandchildren, Daniel Boxman (Christine), Andrew Boxman (Sheri), Anna Rimkus, Naomi Boxman, Leah Boxman, and Ethan Levine; and two great-grandchildren, Jamie Boxman and Lola Boxman.

Her Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 26th, at 11 a.m. at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors Atlantic County (Wimberg Funeral Home), 211 E. Great Creek Road, Galloway, NJ. 08205. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org.

To Judy´s family

I was a classmate of Judy´s at OCHS. She and I had many classes together and it was fun to be in class with her. Man funny memories of those times. So sorry I lost touch with her. Reading her obituary I was so glad to read that she had a wonderfully fulfilled life with a loving family. My deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this heart breaking time.
